This year’s Wah Yan International Conference will be held from 20-22 August in Los Angeles, USA. The organising committee held a press conference last week to announce the theme “Wah Yan Education, Spirit and Services” and the program, including the speakers, activities and tours to local media in LA. You can visit the IC2010 website to get latest information and register.

The dinner with Mr Lo Wing Sun was very successful. We had two full tables with a large number of younger Wahyanites coming to WYPSA activities for the first time. Mr Lo met up with many of his students from the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. He also had a great re-union with two of his own classmates from 1977 class who are living in Sydney: William Wong and Cyril Yau. (Cyril also acted as our photographer for the night with his professional gears, thanks!

Mr Lo Wing Sun (羅榮新副校長 Assistant Principal, WYCHK) and Mr Ip Fuk Wah (葉福華老師) are visiting Sydney during Easter holidays. We are delighted to announce that WYPSA will be having dinner with Mr Lo on 15 April. Mr Patrick Wu (WYCHK 1958) familiar to many of us in the Sydney alumni chapter, will also be in Sydney and will join us for a reunion.

Mathew’s family held a very warm ceremony for Chung Sir at the Chapel of Macquarie Park Cemetery. The Celebrant was Fr. Edward Dooley, a Jesuit Priest in North Sydney. Fr Dooley’s homily was very touching followed by the reflections on the life of Robert by Matthew’s son, Adam. The ceremony was attended by all family members and close friends. Chung Sir and Diana were buried in the Macquarie Park Cemetery, grave 63 and 64 – 023, Section – Traditional.

Mr Chung studied in Wah Yan and later on came back to teach. After retirement, he migrated to Australia and set up our association back in the 1970’s. He served as president for a long time until the late 1980’s. He organized and attended many AGMs and gatherings over the years. His last attendance of our activities was in our 2003 AGM. Later on in October that year, Mr Robert Chung suffered from a slight stroke. After release from hospital he moved in with Mrs Chung in a Nursing Home. During the past few years, some of us from WYPSA visited him from time to time. Fr Deignan, Mr George Tam (Principal of WYCHK) and the two student ambassadors also paid a visit to Mr Chung when they visited Sydney.

Mr Chung had completed his life in full at the age of 93 and had left a lot of loving memories in our hearts.

Details on funeral service will be announced on 27th Friday.
